Want to be a Coach?

Come join Foothills Soccer Club (FSC) as a team coach or assistant coach. Working with the kids can be rewarding to you and to the children. You don't need to be a soccer aficionado since we'll help you obtain the training you need to help the kids. A great way to begin coaching is to join the kindergarten program and to take a coaching clinic on an annual basis-that way you are always improving your coaching skills at the same pace as your team is growing.

At FSC we expect our coaches to attend one coaching clinic per year. So if you work well with kids and are willing to give it a try, please sign up to coach this season. We'd love to have you, and once you've passed the necessary background checks and signed our coaches pledge, you'll be all set. Once we are into the season your basic responsibilities are as follows:

  • Attend a coaching clinic (PYSA has many clinics set up each year).
  • Ensure that the kids have a fun and rewarding experience.
  • Plan and run your weekly training sessions (1 or 2 depending upon age group).
  • Communicate game schedules and other topics to your team.
  • Manage the team on game day. Adhere to the coaches' pledge.
  • Ensure that the kids have a fun and rewarding experience (yes, it's worth mentioning twice)
