Want to be a Coach?
Please consider joining the Foothills Soccer Club (FSC) as a team coach or assistant coach. You’ll find that working with the kids can be rewarding to you and to the children for a variety of reasons. You don’t even need to be a soccer aficionado since we’ll help you obtain the training you need to help the kids. An excellent way to begin coaching is to join the kindergarten program and to take a coaching clinic on an annual basis. This way you are always improving your coaching skills at the same pace as your team is growing.
At FSC we expect our coaches to attend one coaching clinic per year. So if you work well with kids and are willing to give it a try, please sign up to coach this season. We’d love to have you, and once you’ve passed the necessary background checks and signed our coaches pledge, you’ll be all set. Once we are into the season your basic responsibilities are as follows:
- Attend a coaching clinic (PYSA has many clinics set up for 2010).
- Ensure that the kids have a fun and rewarding experience.
- Plan and run your weekly training sessions ( 1 or 2 depending upon age group).
- Communicate game schedules and other topics to your team.
- Manage the team on game day.
- Adhere to the coaches pledge.
- Ensure that the kids have a fun and rewarding experience (yes, it’s worth mentioning twice)
If you’d like to know more about coaching at foothills, please contact our Head Coach, or any of the existing Team Coaches or Board Members for more information. I am sure they will be able to tell you how rewarding it can be to see the kids develop their skills.
